Description:
This class is an introduction to the main features of Brother’s PE Design 11 software. We will discuss the following topics:
- Menus & Program Layout
- How to create a New File – Import – Save – Export
- Wizard Screen
- Toolbar & Functions
- Setting your Hoop Size
- Shortcut keys in program
- Stitch Types & Properties
- Creating Basic Shapes
- Resizing designs
- Duplicating Objects
- Adding artwork to digitize
- 3 Digitizing Projects (logo, applique)
- Fonts/Lettering
- Exporting a design as a .PES file
At the end of the class, you will know how to digitize and create custom designs from artwork, such as logos.
***Out of respect to all attending, please make sure your computer has the software installed and is updated before coming to class.***
Supply List:
- Computer and mouse (mouse is needed, laptop touchpad will not work)
- Regular USB Stick (for class files, CANNOT use the PE software Dongle for your class files)
- Notebook and pen
- *PE Design 11 (Software Dongle USB needed)

The trial version of PE-DESIGN 11 does not have the following functions. Also, the trial version has less sample data than the product version.

- Transferring a design by using the Link function
- Outputting Name Drop data
- Importing a design from a card or a machine
- Importing a design from a machine via wireless network
- Wireless network connectivity
- Exporting an FCM File
- Exporting a design into other formats
- Printing
- Converting TrueType Font to an embroidery pattern
The following applications and features are not available on the trial version of PE-DESIGN 11.
- Design Center, Programmable Stitch Creator, Font Creator, Design Database, Stitch Design Factory and Link
- Displaying the embroidery designs in PES format as thumbnails with File Explorer (Windows 10/8.1) or Windows Explorer (Windows 7)
