DESCRIPTION:If you were ever curious about the endless possibilities your embroidery machine could create\, this class is for you. Learn the following ITH (in-the-hoop) techniques: applique methods\, using wash away (water soluble) stabilizers\, attaching applique pieces\, how to get clean edges on your applique\, floating fabrics on the front and back of your hoop\, working with ITH vinyl\, pathing when digitizing in-the-hoop projects\, best practices for glow in the dark thread\, piecing multiple layers of fabric together with correct registration\, how to finish ITH projects out of the hoop\, and completing a project that requires multiple hoopings. When completed\, this project measures approximately 8”w x 20”h (for a 5” x 7” hoop). \n**You do NOT need a machine to take this course. However\, we will be making the project in class. You are allowed to register and watch others participate if you do not want to bring your machine. You will need a computer at home to try the exercises.\n\nIf you were ever curious about digitizing and creating your own embroidery designs\, this class is a great place to start. We will cover the following topics: different stitch types\, their uses and properties\, underlay stitches\, how to import artwork\, how to export to the correct file type for sewing\, and stitch length and density. There will also be practice exercises so you can learn how to digitize and when to use certain stitch types. This course is meant to serve as an introduction to digitizing. I will be demonstrating using Wilcom’s Hatch software.
